Supercell gave every eligible player a path to unlock the new Mega Knight Evolution for free through a ten-day crown-collecting event in September 2024.
Mega Knight, one of the game's most popular (and most complained-about) win conditions, received its Card Evolution in September 2024 — and unusually, Supercell let everyone earn it without spending.
From September 14–24, players at King Level 7 or above could complete a daily crown-milestone event. Finishing the milestone track six times across the ten days awarded all six Evolution Shards needed to unlock the Mega Knight Evolution outright.
Free evolution giveaways like this became a recurring engagement tool in late 2024, signaling a shift toward making evolutions — previously a premium-leaning system — more accessible to free-to-play players.
